Welcome!

Thank you for visiting and checking out my online space! My name is Thanh (pronounced “tang” like “tango” without the “o”) and I am located in Ottawa, Ontario. I am a Registered Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO) and serve clients virtually across Ontario, British Columbia, and Yukon, Canada. My areas of focus are trauma (childhood and/or intergenerational), attachment and relationships (romantic, peers, work, etc.), and self-worth. Alongside these challenges, clients might also be going through a major life transition, or have a mood disorder (such as bipolar disorder and depression), anxiety (general and social), struggles with emotion regulation, ADHD, stress & burnout, grief, low self-esteem, and sleep problems (such as poor sleep quality and/or insomnia: problems falling asleep, staying asleep, or waking up earlier than they want to).

I also have a special interest in working with the BIPOC community. Being a BIPOC psychotherapist (and a second gen Canadian), my BIPOC clients often find relief in not having to filter themselves (or code switch) around me, not having to educate their therapist on what it’s like living as a visible minority, and feeling comfortable and safe knowing that someone just “gets” it and won’t invalidate their racial and cultural experiences.

Please read more about my work in the “About” section. For cost of services and modalities that I use, see the “Services” section.

Why do I enjoy being a therapist?

I was asked by a colleague why I enjoy my job. This was my initial response to them: To add to these initial thoughts, it brings me joy to see someone improve or feel better by the end of our session or our time together. Clients tend to leave feeling more self-confident and self-compassionate, rather…
